Star Wars: 10 Things You Never Knew About Obi-Wan Kenobi

It is widely known that Obi-Wan detested flying. This was a fact he was pretty vocal about throughout the saga's prequels, and even teased about by Anakin Skywalker. "Flying is for droids". However, this wasn't always the case.

Turning back to the canon novel by Claudia Gray, Master & Apprentice, we learn that said Apprentice actually "loved flying" and he was a very skilled pilot, hence his abilities in the films. Kenobi had a fascination for ships and his adoration for flying was well known by Qui-Gon Jinn.

So, what happened? Whilst on a mission to rescue new ally and jewel thief, Rahara Wick, Obi-Wan accidentally triggered a small ship's autopilot function, sending him spiralling through narrow corridors and walls, eventually bursting onto the bridge of the Czerka Corporation ship he was inside. This harrowing event left the once enthusiastic pilot with a pale face and "his stare somewhat glazed."

After being consoled by his Master, Kenobi still in a state of shock, uttered "I don't ever want to fly again. Ever".
