3. He Was A Multi-Disciplined Negotiator
in A New Hope, an older Obi-Wan told Luke Skywalker that lightsabers are "elegant weapons" and that he deems blasters as "clumsy".
As much as he believed that such weapons are "uncivilised", Kenobi was a skilled marksman and capable of succeeding without his trusty lightsaber when moments arose. His abilities using a sniper rifle were evident in his fight against General Grievous and bounty hunter, Rako Hardeen.
He could hold his own against bounty hunters, particularly Mandalorians, in hand to hand combat as well. Kenobi managed to defend himself unaided against Jango Fett on Kamino, and even knocked the leader of the Death Watch, Pre Vizsla, out of the sky using only his fists.
These weapons were all but last resorts, as Kenobi also had a way with words to avoid conflict whenever possible. Whether it be through Jedi mind tricks or his diplomatic skills, his reputation earned him the nickname 'The Negotiator".
