Star Wars: 10 Times Obi-Wan Kenobi Broke His Own Rules

5. Trolling General Grievous

Some fans of the Star Wars prequel films will undoubtedly hold a strong place in their hearts for the exhilarating battle between Obi-Wan and General Grievous in Revenge of the Sith. With the droid able to wield lightsabers efficiently from fallen knights and having four arms at his disposal, he certainly tested the Jedi's combat skills during their encounter.

But in the franchise's canon, they had several duels much earlier throughout The Clone Wars animated series. Fighting against Grievous on several occasions, he confidently and skilfully defended himself while also testing the antagonist's anger with witty comebacks that gets on the General's nerves.

Not known to provoke his opponents in shows or films before or since, the dynamic between Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker was clearly one that the writers of The Clone Wars clearly enjoyed exploring. Anakin was presented as an impulsive and snarky knight who slowly matured throughout the series while Obi-Wan acted upon emotions from time to time that he clearly inherited from his former apprentice.

Kenobi's taunting and playful banter towards the nonsensical and towering droid may not be a huge deal when compared to the actions he takes that go against the rules of the Jedi, but it does break his own personal approaches to handling threats that fans enjoyed while also offering a fresh perspective on the protagonist.
