Star Wars: 4 Reasons Why People Dislike The Expanded Universe (And Why They're Invalid)

2. "It's Silly"

Star Wars is about a Civil War with space wizards... how is that not silly already? All fantasy is sort of silly. The plots of major and cult fantasy can be ridiculous, trust me. You have to give a little with fiction. Imagine going into the Avengers are saying "well, I can't build an Iron Man suite so this is dumb." Or, "I can't turn into the Hulk, so I don't buy it." That is just crazy reasoning. It is fiction. It may be silly at points, but remember this stuff isn't real. For all the those rare silly moments, there are also the touching tales husbands and wives, sons and daughters, huge space battles, classics knight duels and cool sci-fi moment that transcend the genre. Going into anything with a negative attitude is never a good idea, as is buying into mega-hype. Either way, you will just end up ruining it for yourself.
