Star Wars: 6 Ways Hayden Christensen Could Appear In Episode VIII

6. Darth Vader's Going To Be Resurrected

There's so, so many reasons why this would be stupid, requiring reams of expositional screenplay just to convince even the most forgiving Star Wars fan, but it's such a "big idea" that it needs to be discussed. Over the course of the first six movies, Darth Vader went from being a glorified henchmen to the point of the whole Saga, which allows for a richer overarching narrative, but makes continuing the story a bit difficult - if Anakin's dead, then how do you justify doing a whole other trilogy? The most logical way is to adjust representation to make it so Vader wasn't dead forever, and can be brought back down the line to "continue" his story (not dissimilar to how the Empire has been resurrected as the First Order). There's a logic to this idea in-universe (like The Boys From Brazil, surely the Empire would want to resurrect their fearsome leader), but when you consider how it essentially nullifies the resolution of Return Of The Jedi for the sake of more plot, it's a risky, fan-enraging act. On top of that, this has never been seen to actually happen in the Star Wars universe (at least in the movies - Darth Maul was legitimately brought back in The Clone Wars) and, if he was resurrected, surely Anakin would be in the form of Sebastian Shaw (with or without eyebrows).
