Star Wars 7: 6 Perfect Casting Rumours (And Who They Could Play)

3. Hugo Weaving As Joruus C'baoth

For the longest time, there was no other actor that could have pulled off a role such as Grand Admiral Thrawn than Hugo Weaving. That was until Benedict Cumberbatch came onto the scene and was also thrown into the mix of rumored actors that may be involved with a Star Wars picture. But fear not as there's another man in the Star Wars EU that Weaving could easily slide into a role as and that's the cloned Jedi Joruus C'baoth. Much like many others on this list, Weaving has a hell of a call card when it comes to fanboy film adaptations that he's been involved with and is most noted for turns in The Matrix Trilogy and the Lord of the Rings Saga. Weaving is hands down one of the most seasoned actors that Hollywood has at it's disposal and having him be a part of the Star Wars Universe would be a dream. Joruus C'baoth was a mad Dark Jedi clone that played a pivotal role in Zahn's Thrawn trilogy. If there ever were to be a story somehow involving Thrawn, it would also need to include C'boath as the two characters are crucial to one another. In its simplest form, the C'baoth clone was created by Emperor Palpatine as a guardian or gatekeeper to a secret facility that involved a number of different cloning experiments and ventures. Thrawn eventually discovers the facility along with C€™baoth and the two set out on a mission to stop and destroy the New Republic and reclaim the galaxy for the Empire. A story arc involving these two is what Star Wars is at its most basic and simple form. Introducing C'baoth would bring about a great crossover between the two trilogies while combining some consequences of the Clone Wars and shedding light on some of the mysteries surrounding the Empire. Weaving was meant for a Star Wars role and embodying C'baoth could in fact be a perfect match.
