7. Daisy Ridley As Jaina Solo - Han And Leia's Daughter
As rumours go (and that's all we really have to play with here), Michael Arndt's original script for Star Wars: Episode VII dealt primarily with Han, Leia and Luke's children, with the original cast playing a supporting role to the story. JJ Abrahms however wanted our classic heroes to have one more big adventure before the kids took the reins. Script re-writes aside, we should assume that these younger characters will have some role to play in the seventh Star Wars film, setting them up for bigger things in episodes eight and nine. Given her prominent role in the expanded universe (though those stories are no-longer canon) and the need to have a central heroine after Anakin / Obi-Wan and Luke, the daughter of Han and Leia, Jaina Solo, would be the obvious inclusion into the ongoing story arc of the Skywalker / Solo family. What role would that be? Jaina could be the new apprentice to her uncle, Luke Skywalker. She would spend the majority of the first film in training, learning to use the powers so that she can take centre stage in the action and emotional stakes following the fallout from episode VII. She will follow her uncle into the film's final conflict and face a massive emotional toil that will threaten to consume her (her father Han's death€I'm calling it now!). However she will find a way to overcome this tragedy, becoming more powerful than ever in the fight against the returning Sith.
