2. Andy Serkis - Alien Ally Within The New Republic
JJ Abrams will surely be wary of the overuse of CGI adopted by George Lucas in the prequel trilogy. That being said, Star Wars has always led the way in the development of special effects and that shouldn't stop even when Abrahms returns to models and fully realised sets used in the original trilogy. Andy Serkis is a perfect actor for a role in Star Wars; he brought Gollum, Caser and King Kong to life beautifully, realising a fully wounded performance with motion capture and CGI. After the world of Middle Earth, a galaxy far, far away is the prefect step for Serkis next. In Leia's new republic, Andy Serkis could play the anti-Jar Jar Binks; a leading member of her counsel that bears no humanoid features but is perfectly engaging and relate-able. Perhaps his world comes under threat from the new Sith menace or another hostile force that antagonises the republic. His personal plight could be an extra dimension to the film, adding to the universe outside the central story of the Solo / Skywalker family.
A writer for Whatculture since May 2013, I also write for TheRichest.com and am the TV editor and writer for Thedigitalfix.com . I wrote two plays for the Greater Manchester Horror Fringe in 2013, the first an adaption of Simon Clark's 'Swallowing A Dirty Seed' and my own original sci-fi horror play 'Centurion', which had an 8/10* review from Starburst magazine! (http://www.starburstmagazine.com/reviews/eventsupcoming-genre-events/6960-event-review-centurion) I also wrote an episode for online comedy series Supermarket Matters in 2012. I aim to achieve my goal for writing for television (and get my novels published) but in the meantime I'll continue to write about those TV shows I love!
