Star Wars: 7 Dream Anthology Films We Want To See

6. Darth Plagueis

Tarkin Star Wars Story
Lucasfilm

In Revenge of the Sith, Emperor Palpatine tells Anakin the story of Darth Plagueis the Wise, a Sith Lord that obsessed over cheating death. Plagueis taught the Emperor the ways of the dark side, and he is one of the few characters more powerful than Palpatine.

Plagueis was ultimately killed by his apprentice, and that story would make for a captivating film. Although we've seen Jedi training extensively throughout the Star Wars films, Sith training has not been explored. Palpatine's tutelage under Plagueis would be very unique, and the relationship between these two characters begs for deeper exploration.

Well, unless of course it turns out that Supreme Lord Snoke of the sequel trilogy is Darth Plagueis. Lucasfilm has repeatedly denied that the two characters are the same, but audiences know better than to trust them (after all, Khan and Blofeld definitely weren't in Star Trek Into Darkness and Spectre). If Snoke ends up being Plagueis, the character probably won't need his own spin-off.

Dream Involvement: Plagueis needs to be menacing, wise, and intimidating all at once, and based on his performances as Smaug and Sherlock, Benedict Cumberbatch seems up to the task.
