Speaking of Star Wars Rebels, one of the animated show's own original characters actually had a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo in 2016's Rogue One.

Late in the film, there is a sequence in which an unnamed member of the Rebel Alliance runs across the Yavin IV base to inform Mon Mothma that a group of rebels (i.e. the film's protagonists) had been spotted on the Empire-controlled planet of Scarif. If you look in the background during this scene, you can spot the astromech droid C1-10P, better known as Chopper, rolling around the base.

Chopper, of course, originated from the Rebels animated series, which premiered in 2014. The Ghost's resident astromech, Chopper was a fixture of Rebels' four-season run, and could often be seen embarking on missions alongside Ezra Bridger, Kanan Jarrus, Hera Syndulla, Sabine Wren and Zeb Orrelios.

While ships don't exactly count as characters, the Ghost itself also made a brief appearance in Rogue One, and can be seen flying among the pack when the Rebel Alliance deploys its forces to Scarif.
