Star Wars: 7 Perfect Performances & 7 That Sucked
1. Carrie Fisher As Leia Organa (Perfect!)
Carrie Fisher is Princess Leia and Princess Leia is Carrie Fisher - something the late actor used to say frequently herself. Born of Hollywood royalty being the daughter of Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher, Leia Organa truly was the role Carrie Fisher was made to play. First exploding onto the scene in A New Hope, the twenty-one year old instantly captured audiences and made her character a cinematic icon.
Carrie brought humour, wit and intelligence to the character of Leia, allowing many of her own personality traits to shine through. In a time where the industry is still trying to have equal representation, she managed to do it over forty years ago. A damsel-in-distress, yet she is the one who ends up saving the boys on multiple occasions.
After appearing in the original trilogy, Fisher returned to the franchise in 2015's The Force Awakens and the subsequent sequel, The Last Jedi. The beloved actress tragically passed away before the filming of the series conclusion The Rise of Skywalker, but unused footage from the previous films allowed Leia to get a fitting send off. Fisher will always be remembered for the character of Leia; most certainly her career highlight.
And now the ones that sucked...
