8. Yoda
I put Yoda first as according to an article I read in The Guardian, he has already been confirmed to be the first character to get one of these origin stories. Though I haven't found any other sources confirming this, I still think it could be a good idea for an origin film to centre on the head of the Jedi council (assuming origin films in general are a good idea at all). Like I said in my introduction, I know almost nothing of the expanded universe beyond the films, video games and a few other assorted pieces, meaning it may have already been covered, but I would like to know more of Yoda's past before joining the Jedi order, or even in his early days as a Jedi master. The story could centre on things like his home planet and people, how he became the head of the council or how he overcame such crippling height challenges to become such an amazing fighter with a Rocky style montage. Ok, maybe no montage, but Yoda's early days before Episode I could still make for an interesting film. After training Jedi for 800 years, surely some exciting things must have happened that an origin film could focus on, such as how he ascended to become the head of the council. I'd definitely be interested to see more of Yoda, where he came from and his own story outside of the existing saga.
