Star Wars: 8 Ideas For A Live-Action TV Show

7. Star Wars: Underworld

We may not have seen a live-action Star Wars TV show yet, but that doesn't mean there haven't been plans. Specifically, a show by the name of Star Wars: Underworld was proposed, a series that would have been set during the time span between Revenge Of The Sith and A New Hope. Sadly the show's future was put on hold over budget concerns, but now that Star Wars is back in the limelight and receiving more attention than ever, why not use the opportunity to revive it?

According to George Lucas the show was to be comedic and action-packed but with a focus on dialogue and personal drama. It was to feature mostly minor characters from the films and the Expanded Universe, with the potential for cameos by main players. The show was to exist on the fringes of the main series, hence "Underworld" - characters like The Emperor and Darth Vader would be known and referenced, but not part of the plot. As for the exact content, Lucas described the show as fairly dialogue heavy, "a soap opera with a bunch of personal dramas in it", similar in tone to "film noir movies from the '40s".

Reviving a show like Underworld would be a great idea given the amount of concept art and writing that's already created, and it'd also be a nice way to fleshing out what's been established in the prequels. Besides, various actors from the films expressed interest in returning to their role, including Jay Laga'aia (Captain Typho), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) and Ian McDiarmid (The Emperor). Think of the cameos!
