Star Wars: 8 Ideas For A Live-Action TV Show

6. Mace Windu's Return

Okay, so a Star Wars TV show in which the main character is Mace Windu may sound pretty ridiculous, but it's hard to deny that it'd be pretty awesome, too. Set after Windu's supposed death in Revenge Of The Sith, the show could reveal that Windu didn't in fact die, but was left stranded and maimed on Coruscant.

Think about it: the show would open during one of the most exciting and volatile moments in Star Wars history, immediately after the execution of Order 66. Imagine Mace Windu struggling to survive during the anarchy, left with nothing but a freshly severed limb and an insatiable rage aimed directly at the Sith.

A TV show based on Mace Windu would be a good idea because it could show us a completely fresh perspective on the events towards the end of the prequel trilogy and during the time leading up to A New Hope. Obviously Windu is nowhere to be seen in the latter films, which means if he lived he's likely to have hidden himself on a planet at the other side of the galaxy. The show could depict Windu's attempt to conceal his Jedi identity while simultaneously banding together with others who rejected the Empire.

Plus, let's be honest: Disney seem terrified of upsetting fans by referencing the prequels in the new trilogy, so television might be a safe, slower way of reintroducing those events and characters. Despite a lot of fan vitriol, the prequels are an important part of Star Wars history: why not try and legitimise it with something unique?
