Star Wars: 9 Ideas For The New Trilogy & TV Show

3. A New Family Saga

The new trilogy will move away from the Skywalker saga, so perhaps it's time to introduce a new power family into the Star Wars universe. Family is such a persistent theme in Star Wars that it feels like it should be represented in some form, and there are numerous ways of exploring it beyond the relationships we've already seen in the main episodes.

Again the idea is slightly vague - since the notion of 'something new' within Star Wars lore is itself open to almost anything - but Johnson could kickstart a new saga that explores family in Star Wars, with or without the Force.

It's a big galaxy, and there are people out there not called Skywalker who could be heroes and villains for years to come. Disney and Lucasfilm will keep on making Star Wars films for aeons, so another new generation of characters could develop a legacy to be carried forth over the years. It'd be a chance to keep that core theme will also allowing Johnson to run wild in the galaxy and do things that are completely original and untied to what we've seen before.
