Star Wars: 9 Lightsabers You Didn't Know Exist (And What They Mean)

3. Great Lightsaber

Contrasting greatly with the Shoto saber is the great lightsaber, a weapon utilised by larger beings as opposed to the traditional weapons used by those of an average or smaller build. They were actually characterised as Lightclubs in the old Legends canon, but were dubbed Great lightsabers with the arrival Star Wars: Forces of Destiny - a role-playing game situated within the new continuity.

The weapon itself first appeared in Star Wars media in the beloved Jedi Knight series, specifically Dark Forces II. It's gone unnoticed for now though, with the one reference in Forces of Destiny not leading to any further appearances in related works since.

It's understandable as to why, given there aren't many Jedi that are large enough to warrant that kind of weapon, but it would be nice to see a more noticeable appearance in the future.
