Star Wars 9 Rumour: [SPOILER] Returns In The Rise Of Skywalker
Palpatine might not be the only one coming back.
Star Wars fans were rocked earlier this month when the trailer for Episode IX, The Rise of Skywalker, revealed the return of Emperor Palpatine - but he might not be the only character coming back for the conclusion to the Skywalker Saga.
If the headline didn't make it clear, MAJOR spoilers from here on in. Scroll past BB-8 and find out.
According to Making Star Wars, Harrison Ford will be reprising his role as Han Solo in The Rise of Skywalker. Yep, despite being killed by his own son in The Force Awakens, it seems like Han is getting one last shot in the Saga.
MSW, who have a strong track record with Star Wars reports, have heard various bits of information from multiple sources regarding Ford's return. The sequence takes place, as you'd expect, between Han and Kylo Ren, and according to their info comes as a "surprise intervention" of sorts. He won't be a Force Ghost, since, well, he wasn't a Jedi, but instead it's believed that he'll be a vision of sorts brought forth by Luke to help Ben Solo. It may take place in the same scene as Kylo looking at Darth Vader's helmet for guidance, and instead coming face-to-face with his father.
These are disparate facts from various of the site's sources, but together they paint a rough picture of what we can expect. And if nothing else, it looks almost certain at this stage that Ford will indeed be back in some capacity for the film. Given Luke and Leia will be back for the last film in the Saga started in 1977, it's fitting that Han will be there too - and who knows, maybe there's scope to give us a proper final scene between the three original heroes.
