Star Wars: 9 Things About The Last Jedi That Make No Sense
2. Kylo Should Have Spotted Luke Was A Force Projection
When Luke Skywalker made his final stand against Kylo Ren and the First Order's forces, the clues were only too apparent that he was merely there in spirit.
Kylo should have realised something was amiss when his former teacher brandished his famous blue lightsaber, the same laser sword that was ripped in half before his very eyes during the showdown with Rey.
If the mysteriously-reforged saber didn't give the game away, Luke's physical appearance should have. The Jedi master looks younger, with less grey in his hair and beard. No doubt this was done for symbolic purposes, but it should have been a red flag for Kylo. Sure, he was blinded by rage at the time, but anyone with knowledge of the Force should be aware that a Jedi opponent would attempt some kind of mind trickery.
Luke's ability to channel a tangible Force projection capable of physical contact with Leia has also been questioned by some, though this is easier to overlook on the grounds that nobody really knows how the hero's powers have developed since the events of the original trilogy.
Moreover, Force projections are new to the series, so Rian Johnson and his creative team had free reign to call that shots and establish the rules where they are concerned.
