Star Wars Episode VII: 5 British Locations Perfect For The Movie

2. Northern Lights, Shetland, Scotland

0northern lights A hard one to plan, I admit but the Northern Lights were CGI screen-savers before it was cool. It would be amazing to have this natural spectacle of beauty feature in the great space opera, as difficult as it would be to plan it into the schedule. The Northern Lights are particularly visible at night making for some seriously dramatic backgrounds for scenes of dialogue or action or anything else. The windswept Shetland Isles are characterful and beautiful alike. They would provide far more interesting scenery for the films than the computers of Naboo ever did. This combined with the sights of solar particles colliding with atmospheric gas molecules would make for a unique planet for Jedi to explore. They would make an ideal location for Star Wars shooting.
