Star Wars: Every Major Jedi Ranked Worst To Best
1. Obi-Wan Kenobi
If there is one thing that the Star Wars franchise is sorely lacking, it's consistency. This isn't just evident in the rising and falling quality of the movies/shows, but also in the characters themselves. Even beloved creations like Luke or Yoda have some poor moments, but one character who seems to rise above that is Obi-Wan Kenobi.
You can distil Kenobi down into two significant roles, with the first being his position as Luke's mentor in the Original Trilogy. His wisdom, sense of humour and profoundly meaningful dialogue turned him into the real driving force of A New Hope. Although he perishes quickly, he continues to play an integral part in the series as a force ghost and guide for Luke.
Then, you've got his role in the prequels, which were an absolute highlight of the movies. The films (and performance from Ewan McGregor) captured the essence of the Obi-Wan we knew, but gave you an accurate feeling of growth. Seeing him go from an apprentice, to a Jedi Master, to war veteran and, finally, a quiet hermit was mesmerising, and there are so few missteps with his character.
Fans are beyond excited to see him return for his Disney+ series and can only hope that his consistency remains true.
