Star Wars: Every Upcoming Project Ranked By Anticipation

We may not know when exactly it's coming out. We may not know too many plot details beyond a simple synopsis. But even still, quite possibly the single-most exciting Star Wars project announced at Disney Investor Day is The Acolyte.

For starters, the upcoming Disney+ series is in excellent hands. Leslye Headland, co-creator of Netflix's Russian Doll, will serve as creator and showrunner of The Acolyte. Headland will be joined on the project by co-developer Rayne Roberts, who has had a hand in every Star Wars film since The Force Awakens, not to mention the excellent animated series Star Wars Rebels.

What's more, The Acolyte will be a mystery-thriller, which already makes it stand out compared to the rest of the franchise. What truly makes the series so exciting, however, is that it will be the very first on-screen project set during the High Republic era.

Combine this unique setting with some implied Dark Side overtones and you have a show that is shaping up to be unlike anything we've seen from Star Wars up to this point. And considering just how much Star Wars content there's been in recent years, that's saying something.
