6. Rogue Squadron
While the vast majority of upcoming Star Wars projects will be on the small screen, and many details have yet to surface regarding Taika Waititi's film, the franchise is still set to make its triumphant return to cinemas in the near future.
Announced at Disney Investor Day, Rogue Squadron is scheduled to arrive on the silver screen in December of 2023. The very first Star Wars feature film to be helmed by a female director, Rogue Squadron comes from none other than Patty Jenkins, director of Wonder Woman.
Rogue Squadron, of course, is the name of the famous squad of Rebel pilots founded by Luke Skywalker. And while official plot details regarding the film are being kept under wraps, Jenkins explains that it has been a lifelong dream of hers to make the "greatest fighter pilot movie of all time."
Jenkins has already gotten to show off her action blockbuster chops through the Wonder Woman franchise. So, with her Top Gun-esque take on the Star Wars universe just three short years away, it's safe to say a lot of fans will be counting down the days to Rogue Squadron.
