Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - 10 Big Reveals About Disney's Upcoming Land

3. You Can Build Your Own Lightsaber Or Droid

Disney Parks

While Disney has long offered various stands in Star Wars-centric areas of the park where guests can build their own lightsabers or minuscule droid models, they've never offered anything quite like this.

For the building of your own personalized lightsaber, guests can go to Savi's Workshop. The narrative surrounding this place is that Savi is a Jedi-enthusiast who is trying to do his small part to preserve and fan the flame of hope in the galaxy by passing on the ancient art of lightsaber crafting. Here, guests will choose between four potential paths (peace and justice, power and control, elemental nature, and protection and defense), which will dictate the pieces you are given to assemble the hilt with. From here, you get to choose the color of your kyber crystal and construct your own Jedi weapon.

For the building of droids, guests will head over to Droid Depot. Run by an Utai named Mubo, this place is a gear-heads haven where you can choose between building your own R-series unit (ala R2-D2) or your own BB-series unit (ala BB-8). These droids will be remote control and can interactively interface with several different aspects of the land at large.

Also, in one of the park's many wonderful odes to Star Wars past, the Droid Depot also sells remote-controlled versions of the original Star Tours pilot from back in the day, R-3X.
