Star Wars: Ranking The Future Lucasfilm Projects From Least To Most Promising
2. Obi-Wan-Kenobi
There have been rumours about this show for years, but now we finally have an update from Lucasfilm.
The series is set to begin 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, where Obi-Wan was able to survive Order 66 and was forced to fight his former padawan and friend, Anakin Skywalker. Their duel on the volcanic planet Mustafar would be the last time they saw each other before Anakin’s transformation into the dark lord Darth Vader.
Ewan McGregor will reprise his role as Obi-Wan and it was confirmed that Hayden Christensen will be returning as Darth Vader, although there was no official confirmation as to whether James Earl Jones would be returning as the voice of Vader. Deborah Chow, who directed several episodes of The Mandalorian, is set to direct the entire show, which has six episodes confirmed for season one.
If Lucasfilm are able to pull this one off, it will be a massive win for Disney+. But they will have to be careful, as die-hard fans of the original trilogy will not be happy if they disrespect two of George Lucas’ most iconic characters.
