Star Wars: Ranking The Future Lucasfilm Projects From Least To Most Promising

11. Rogue Squadron

The Mandalorian Boba Fett
Lucasfilm

The last Star Wars movie to hit the theatres was over two years ago with Episode IX: The Rise Of Skywalker. It brought a rather lacklustre ending to the Disney Sequel Trilogy without announcing any other Star Wars films to follow. But Lucasfilm announced that Rogue Squadron would be the next Star Wars film to hit theatres with plans for it to be released in late 2023.

From what little we know about the film, Rogue Squadron will be influenced by other Star Wars books and games, but will also have its own unique story that will focus on a new generation of fighter pilots who try to earn their wings. The film will also be directed by Patty Jenkins, who was the director for both of the recent Wonder Woman films.

The reason why Rogue Squadron is so low on this list is because we have very little information about the film. As of the time of this article, we do not know who is writing the film, what the stakes will be for the story or who will star in it. So until Lucasfilm reveals more information, expectations for Rogue Squadron remain pretty low.
