Star Wars: Rise Of Skywalker - Everything It Gets Wrong

2. Carrie Fisher's Terribly Used Footage

Obviously this is a majorly sensitive issue, and obviously JJ and all those involved did what they could with the unused footage of Carrie Fisher's takes in Force Awakens to create a new role for Leia.

But, if I'm honest, it was very poorly handled.

Multiple scenes from the original Force Awakens trailers are used, with Leia awkwardly cut out and pasted into scenarios and locations she was never in before.

A reused version of the Leia/Rey hug from the close of TFA gets used from a different angle, and multiple things that Leia says make no sense, given what's being said to her, or what comes after.

Essentially, while the production crew were in between a rock and a hard place deciding what to do, writing a script that asked way too much of this footage stands out as a notable negative.
