4. Bacta Tank Reveal
There is no bigger mystery to Rogue One than the perplexing chamber surrounded by Imperial Royal Guards. Speculation on the occupant has run rampant since day one of the first trailer. It's been assumed that this is a bacta tank, much like the one Luke Skywalker occupied in Empire Strikes Back.
Not only is the tank occupant a riddle, but the figure walking towards it is as well. Is it a surprise cameo of the Emperor? A hooded Darth Vader? Or possibly even a Snoke Easter egg, shedding light on the mystery surrounding his character from The Force Awakens and connecting the greater galaxy of films.
Due to the appearance of the Royal Guards, the obvious assumption has to be Emperor Palpatine or Darth Vader. However, in all other previous scenes within the franchise, the Royal Guards have only ever surrounded Palpatine. This could be a minor scene in the film, but the hype surrounding it looms large.
