Mid-way through the movie, Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) asks Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen) to gather all of his engineers, because he knows that there's a traitor in his midst.

He urges the traitor to step forward, and when nobody does, Krennic announces that he's going to treat them all as collaborators and kill the lot of them.

At that moment, Galen steps forward and reveals that he is in fact the rebel sympathiser, but Krennic has none of it, executing all of the engineers regardless.

It may not be the most original act of villainy ever put to film, but it does a great, terrifying job of cementing Krennic's ruthlessness when faced with insurrection, and again demonstrates the movie's challenging morality, that Galen's actions just got a number of good men killed.
