The first time we see Darth Vader in Rogue One, he's contained within a bacta tank, a medical chamber that can be used to help healing.

This isn't the first time such a device has been seen in the franchise, though: Luke was placed inside one in The Empire Strikes Back after sustaining major injuries on Hoth.

How apt that both father and son have enjoyed the restorative properties of the bacta tank.
