Star Wars: Rogue One - Predicting Who Lives And Who Dies
6. Darth Vader
Why He Could Live: He's in the movie set directly after this one.
Why He Could Die: OK, I'm going to level with you, I don't think Vader's going to die. Shocking, right? I'm not actually positing that whiny Hayden's going to be replaced with an imposter or clones or something that fans would say they'd like until it played out rather embarrassingly on screen. However, that's not to say Vader won't be changed somehow.
The film pitches Darth in a more overseer role, monitoring Director Krennic and the Emperor's many pies, before allegedly joining the fray for a single, epic action beat. It's a popular thinking that this will see the imposing Sith Lord physically weakened somehow, perhaps making him even more machine and explaining how restrained he is in much of the original trilogy. Which sounds a bit convinient, but damn if it doesn't make sense.
Prediction: He lives, obviously, but something in the adventure permanently knocks him physically.
