Star Wars: Rogue One - Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best
4. Jyn Erso
On the face of it, Jyn Erso appeared to be another typical Star Wars hero: the young farmgirl who loses her family at a young age, and joins the Rebellion looking for a sense of purpose, a chance of escape, and to fight back against those responsible.
However, a lot of Jyn's characteristics feel more suited to Han or Leia than they do Luke Skywalker, which makes for an interesting lead in a Star Wars movie.
She is, quite clearly, a rebel - in and out of prison, not caring about the fight against the Empire, getting by however she can. That plays a part in the first half of the film, as she's reluctant to join, and then does so more because of her father than any perceived sense of duty.
That shifts over the course of the film, though, as she comes to truly believe in the cause, and becomes the only person who can band together all these Rebels and lead the mission to steal the plans.
Felicity Jones anchors the film superbly, providing the determined, courageous, and hopeful lead this film needed.
