Star Wars: Rogue One Teaser Breakdown - 25 Things You Need To See
8. Battle In Paradise
The final run of the trailer centres on a major land battle set in some from of oasis, which I'm willing to put good money on being the Rebel's "first victory" from the opening crawl and the cover for Jyn and co. stealing the plans, placing this as the movie's big final action sequence. And it looks good.
First we see Shadow Troopers engaged in battle, who we can presume are a better shot than their stormy counterparts.
This looks like a big Imperial ship, which is almost a precursor to Kylo Ren's shuttle, getting blown up (although it may be some other structure). Why it's being blown up? No clue.
I'm a big fan of this location - a desert island paradise is one of the few natural locations not to have been used as the basis for a Star Wars planet, so makes a lot of sense (and serves as a subtle contrast to the dense jungle of Yavin IV.
This could be the planet around which the Death Star is orbiting - a concept teaser showed a battle raging on a similar locale with the space station looming in the sky.
Although the shots of the battle focus more on the Imperial side, we do get a quick shot confirming this as a Rebel assault, rather than a covert op, with a soldier caught near the destruction of that ship.
