Star Wars: Rogue One - Who Lives, Who Dies (And Why)

1. Jyn Erso

With the re-birth of Star Wars under Disney, the franchise has quickly gone two-for-two with female leads. Where Rey from The Force Awakens had a sense of innocence in the first act, Jyn Erso looks to be a bonafide warrior. There's a lot of questions surrounding Jyn but it's easy to see she will quickly become a fan favorite in the Star Wars mythology.

Every Rogue One trailer and TV spot has focused solely on Jyn; making this film more about her journey than anything. Yes the film is about the theft of the Death Star plans, but the bulk of the story appears to involve Jyn and her relationship with her father Galen. This relationship will guide Jyn in her journey and the actions she takes with the rest of her squad. Will Jyn be driven by the Rebel cause she serves or the hope of saving her father?

Fate: Lives

Jyn's character will serve an initial purpose in bridging the gap between the knowledge her father holds and the Alliance's desire to get information about the Empire's new weapon. As the story progresses, Jyn will adopt the Rebel cause as her own.

Whether it's through the relationships she builds with the rest of the squad or the sacrifices they make throughout the film, the evolution of Jyn Erso will be a major plot point. Her legacy has to continue after the evens of Rogue One with all of the other death and destruction.
