6. How Did They Get Luke's Old Lightsaber?

When The Force Awakens was in the middle of production, there were wild rumours floating about regarding Luke's old lightsaber and how it will play a part in the film. These rumors turned out to be true in the second teaser, but it only leads to the big question of how did the characters get Luke's lightsaber in the first place? And who actually found Luke's lightsaber anyway? As far as the films are concerned, Luke's lightsaber and hand was lost on Bespin and was presumably dropped into the clouds through one of the city's many vents. Furthermore, there seems to be no indication that lightsabers could be tracked down through some sort of tracking device. So did Han, Chewie, or Leia comb through the clouds of Bespin and managed to somehow find it? Or maybe Rey came across it whilst she was scavenging one day and this ties her into the film's story? Or there's also the possibility that the blue lightsaber seen in the film actually isn't Luke's old one at all but Leia's own, similar, lightsaber. Regardless of who actually owns that lightsaber or how they managed to find Luke's old lightsaber (and his decomposing severed hand), that humming blue sword of power seems like it will definitely play a part for the character in the next entry...
