Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 10 Fears Alleviated By The Teaser Trailer

6. The Focus Has Shifted (For The Better)

The Fear: Expectations would put too much emphasis on old characters. Why The Teaser Eased That Fear: Though fans love the likes of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia, they've done their time and had their movies - at least cast in the roles of "central protagonists," anyway, and it's time for a new era of younger, fresher characters to lead proceedings, especially if Star Wars is to live up to its original plan to be a saga in which only droids R2-D2 and C-3PO reoccur in the same capacity in every episode. Going by the teaser, then, such a switch-up has been made and Disney are apparently keen to emphasise the fact that a bunch of relatively obscure-looking younglings are now the major players in the saga, given that Luke, Han and Leia don't feature for a single second (unless Han is flying the Millennium Falcon in that shot at the end, of course). Let them play second fiddle... for the better.
