8. Captain Phasma And Kylo Ren Work Together

It might seem like a stupidly simple observation, but it's important to note that both Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma are on the ground during one of the attacks on Jakku. Usually, Star Wars films split the villains, heaping added importance on one as a lone wolf figure. It happened with Darth Vader (after his initial reveal as an instrument of the Empire); it happened with Boba Fetta (even when he was one of a whole team of bounty hunters) and then with Darth Maul and General Grievous. The Empire doesn't clump its weapons together because it makes them no more than constituent cogs in the machine and it's counter to the agenda of individual icon building. So it's odd to see the two most conspicuous Empire villains on the same ground mission. That seemingly confirms the suspicions that the agenda in attacking Jakku is important to both the Empire and the Sith, and proves that the targets (both Rey and Finn AND Luke's lightsaber) are of paramount importance.
