5. "The Force Is Strong In My Family"

The Trailer Moment: We may not have seen Luke in the trailers (bar that shot of him and R2), but we sure did hear him; the second trailer opened with repeat of his "the Force is strong in my family" speech from Return Of The Jedi, repurposed to be seemingly directed at one of the new characters. Where Was It? There was always some uncertainty if the line would be in The Force Awakens proper given how it appeared to be a direct audio lift (he says "you have that power too" to Leia) from Episode VI, but given the film's nostalgic bent it seemed reasonable we could get a replay. Or not, it turns out. Luke actually has more lines in the trailers than he does in the finished movie, meaning this was always just intended as a scene-setter, rather than hinting at a big Skywalker reveal.
