Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 10 Theories On How It Ends

8. Rey Discovers Her True Force-Sensitive Heritage, Defeats Kylo Ren, And Becomes A Jedi

That's right, instead of Finn being the one who can levitate stuff with the Force and duel with lightsabers, it is actually Rey who gets to become a badass Jedi. One of the more prevailing theories going around is that Han and Leia's relationship actually did last the distance and that Rey is their daughter. As such, this makes Rey an all-powerful Skywalker but due to possible assassination attempts and other various dangers going on, Han and Leia decided to hide Rey away on the desert planet of Jakku. When Finn defects from the stormtroopers and somehow ends up on Jakku, he meets Rey and this starts a chain of events that brings Rey back to her parents, her discovering her true heritage through Luke and/or Leia, and how she uses her new-found power to defeat Kylo Ren whilst assisting the Rebels in defeating the First Order. Think of the previous Finn-centric ending but swap out Finn for Rey instead. Whilst the theory is pretty good and is completely plausible, the only thing that even partially suggests that Rey is any sort of Force guru is the brief shot of Leia handing her Luke's old lightsaber. Still, having the female lead become a Jedi seems to be a pretty good story choice to make.

My life story is nothing special. I haven't cured ebola, I'm nowhere near stopping terrorism, and I'm still working on that climate change problem. Instead, all I've done so far is put a few hundred words together in an attempt to make people laugh. You can follow me at @Fry_ying_pan but don't be offended if I don't tweet back. It's usually because I've spent too long trying to think up a witty response that the reply window has closed.
