4. A Blood Smear On Finn's Helmet
In retrospect, starting the first tease with Finn jumping up into frame was a smart move, getting any potential distaste for a black stormtrooper (what a ridiculous cause for backlash) out of the way over a year before the movie actually hit. People are already so used to it that John Boyega can coyly confirm he's an Imperial (at least at the start of the movie) at Star Wars Celebration without causing much of a stir. Knowing he isn't just wearing that armour in a homage to Luke and Han's rescue plan from A New Hope opens up the opportunity for the exploration of something Star Wars has thus far skirted around (in cinemas at least); the ethics of the Empire and the morality of its loyal rank-and-file. Clearly something's going to push Finn over the edge, and it's not going to be anything pretty. You actually get a taste of that in this second teaser. Blink and you'll miss it, but the helmet Finn removes is splattered with blood, including a distinct hand mark on the crown. No wonder he looks so distressed.
