Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 10 Ways It's A Remake Of A New Hope
3. The Obi-Wan "Ben" Kenobi Name Reveal/Ben Solo Name Reveal Parallel
"Ben!" One of the most powerful moments in all of Star Wars history occurs towards the end of The Force Awakens, when Han Solo decides to confront his lost son, Kylo Ren. Stepping out onto a platform suspended over an endless void after planting bombs at Starkiller Base - reminiscent of the scene in which Vader confronts Luke in The Empire Strikes Back, of course - Solo shouts his son's real name and approaches him. It's at this moment that we learn that Ren's real name is "Ben." The Force Awakens isn't the only Star Wars movie with a moment of revelation concerning the name "Ben," though. Think back to A New Hope, when Luke Skywalker realises that "Old Ben," a crazy hermit living out in the middle of nowhere in deserts of Tatooine, is actually Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Master - and the guy Princess Leia needs to save her. Thus Han's cry of "Ben!" serves up further proof that Episode VII is a remake in disguise.
