Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 10 Ways It's A Remake Of A New Hope

4. The Yavin Control Room/D'Qar Control Room Parallel

Towards the final act of The Force Awakens, Han takes Rey to the Resistance Base on D'Qar. Inside the Resistance Base, the Control Room has clearly been designed to look like the one that appeared on Yavin in A New Hope, what with its old-fashioned looking computers and darkened aesthetic. Instantly, you're reminded of the scene in which the Rebels - Leia, Luke and Han included - conjure up the plan to destroy the Death Star. We get the same scene in The Force Awakens, too, only the word "Death Star" has been replaced with "Starkiller Base." In fact, the whole climatic action sequence is a rehash of the one that appears in A New Hope, with Leia and C-3PO in the Control Room, as Luke and the Rebels attempt to blow up the infamous space station in space. The Force Awakens' version reprises the beats of this scene with an attack on the Starkiller Base, and Luke replaced by Poe Dameron.
