Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 30 Easter Eggs & References You Need To See

16. The Snow Trooper Insignia

A particularly hard one to spot (but which thankfully was picked up by the Internet before release), this reference in the snow troopers design nods back to yet another Ralph McQuarrie concept design. His first designs for stormtroopers included insignia on the sides of their helmets, which have been ported over to the chest plates of The Force Awakens' white snowtroopers. You'd be forgiven for missing it in the actual film, of course, because the snow troopers were basically cut out of all but a couple of seconds. In similarly impressive spotting fashion, the first trailer also yielded a disposable gag on Poe Dameron's vest. The text written on there translates to "pull to inflate", which is just sensible really.
