15. Maz Kanatas Flags
As discovered as soon as the trailer landed, Maz Kanata's sprawling base is daubed with flags. There's no explanation in the film of why, but it's presumably an indication that everyone is welcome there (despite the fact that her open door policy means the First Order spies rat Han, Rey and Finn out and see the castle destroyed), and they're a nice touch. In amongst the flags are a Mandalorin skull (prompting ill-conceived excitement over Boba Fett coming back), the mark of the Ohnaka Gang, Ziro the Hutt's tattoo and Sebulba and Anakin's flags from the pod-racing in Episode One. Incidentally, Maz Kanata's castle is also based on an early concept for Jabba's palace.
