Star Wars: The Force Awakens - Power Ranking Every Character

4. Rey

Though conventional theorising has suggested that Rey is a Solo, it doesn't make sense that they would simply abandon their daughter alone and have her scavenge a life for herself. It makes a lot more sense that Rey is actually Luke Skywalker's daughter, and that his self-imposed exile and that of his daughter is designed to stop her from being tempted by the Dark Side (or found by anyone seeking to wipe the last remnants of it out). Rey is a plot key, just as much as the lost lightsaber and Darth Vader's helmet are rumoured to be, and her removal from her family (which rhymes with the way Luke and Leia were also separated) suggests that she possesses enough power to be a concern. The issue of who the Force Awakens in is probably most closely tied to Rey (even if it does turn out she's a Solo) and her arc throughout the trilogy will no doubt centre on that evolution. And while she might not start out as powerful, there's an air of a Chosen One about her, and the usual rules about power development tend to be cast aside for them.
