Star Wars: The Force Awakens - Predicting Who Lives And Who Dies
8. Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac)
Why He Could Live: He's the new Han Solo and could easily turn out to be the most charismatic and likable of the three new leads, so it wouldn't make much sense at all to kill him off. Also, Isaac ill-advisedly let slip that he is already signed on for Episode VIII, seemingly confirming the fact that Poe won't be dying any time soon. Why He Could Die: For starters, given how much of an expert J.J. Abrams is at manipulating audiences, don't be surprised if he instructed Isaac to say that in order to feed the audience misinformation and make his death all the more of a shocker. And just like with Finn and Rey, there would be enormous shock value in killing him off. Given how much dangerous piloting he'll no doubt be doing throughout the movie, he's certainly the most likely out of the three protagonists to die (also, to be a cynical for a moment, consider that he's neither a) black nor b) a woman). Prediction: Poe lives, but takes a huge beating when the Order captures him (as seen in behind-the-scenes videos).
