The Force Awakens Vs The Last Jedi
Lucasfilm

The Force Awakens looks downright amazing from start to finish, and there's barely a moment in the entire film where the CGI and cinematography appear to be anything other than spectacular. The film is bright and bold and colourful in all the ways that a Star Wars movie had never been before, and you can tell that Abrams and his team really poured over every frame to ensure it looked fantastic.

That said, The Last Jedi is arguably the best-looking Star Wars flick ever, because every shot has a distinct artistry about it that means you could pretty much pause it at any point and frame the resulting image. The movie also has a fantastic colour palette that makes it stand out - the combination of reds and blacks really pop, whilst the visual effects are second to none. Crisp, bold, beautiful.

Winner: Both movies are absolutely gorgeous, but there's something about the overall look of The Last Jedi - courtesy of wonderful cinematographer Steve Yedlin - that makes it the winner of this round.
