Star Wars: The High Republic - 10 Things The New Saga Must Include

8. Explore The Unknown Regions

Speaking of new directions, one area the new saga should definitely look to explore are parts of the galaxy that no one, not the fans, not the characters, not even George Lucas himself, really know that much about. The Unknown Regions.

Much of what has ever been written about the Unknown Regions in Star Wars has been de-canonized since the acquisition of the franchise by Disney. Whilst there are undoubtedly a lot of cool things that have now been relegated into Star Wars Legends, there is still potential for some things to be brought back.

Fans of the old Legends canon - and in particular those who have played the Old Republic and Knights of The Old Republic games - will know that there are all sorts of nasty dark forces that exist beyond the outer-rim. Solid fan-favourite race the Yuuzhan Vong that showed up in much lore and literature after the original trilogy could also make a potential comeback to the canon in this way.

The merits of taking the franchise off into the Unknown Regions would further allow for a fresh approach to Star Wars by putting as many lightyears between it, and the original saga as possible, and give it the fresh start it needs.

Sam Ring hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
