20. Extreme Fishing Problems

As Rey waits to convince Luke to come and help the Resistance cause, she witnesses his daily routine on Ahch-To, including milking creatures, grumpily climbing the hill and a spot of extreme fishing. Needless to say, he's a sprightly one despite his age and his desire to die on his little island.

As the film reveals his fishing technique, there's a problem. Luke uses a pole-vault stick of sorts to launch himself to a lower vantage point to stab giant fish for his meals. He clearly swings down from one cliff to that vantage point, suggesting that the pole drops lower with him too.

So how the hell does he get back up from his little perch? It makes absolutely no sense unless you want to start throwing around "he's a Jedi", which the film itself rejects by revealing that he's turned off his Force powers to remain hidden.
