Star Wars: The Last Jedi - 31 Easter Eggs & References You Need To See

14. Leia In White

After Leia is almost killed by Kylo Ren, Poe Dameron ends up staging a mutiny against interim leader Holdo, which comes to an abrupt end when Leia recovers from her injuries and storms the bridge, firing a blaster to incapacitate Poe.

Amusingly, Leia isn't wearing her typical General garb but rather some white medical clothing, which is clearly styled to somewhat resemble her iconic Princess attire. The fact she also fires a blaster only makes the nod seem that much more blatant.

13. Luke's Force Projection

At the conclusion of Luke's final standoff against Kylo Ren, it's revealed that Luke was never physically there, and had been using the Force to project a visage of himself, allowing the Resistance to escape from Crait.

It's a great surprise, though in retrospect there are a ton of clues which will be far more obvious to audiences on a second viewing.

For starters, Luke appears as an idealised version of himself, sporting the destroyed blue lightsaber and black, well-groomed hair rather than his greyer, scruffier appearance in reality.

Then there's the fact he appeared in the Resistance hideout out of nowhere, and finally, he left no footprints on the ground, while Rian Johnson made great pains to show that Kylo Ren's footing uncovered Crait's red surface beneath the layer of salt.
