Star Wars: The Last Jedi - 31 Easter Eggs & References You Need To See
6. Crait = Hoth...With Salt
It's clear to anyone with a working pair of eyeballs that the planet of Crait shares more than a few visual similarities to Hoth from the original series, most notably its white colour scheme and the fact it's populated by large walkers.
Hilariously, Rian Johnson makes a rather on-the-nose attempt to draw a distinction between Crait and Hoth, by having a soldier take a lick of the ground and declare it to be salt rather than the snow that covers Hoth. It's as if Johnson's telling the audience, "IT'S NOT HOTH! IT'S DEFINITELY NOT HOTH, OK???"
5. Admiral Raddus
The ship that General Leia commands in the movie is called the Raddus, which is a clear nod to Admiral Raddus, the grey-skinned Mon Calamari who made a brief but memorable appearance in Rogue One as a commander during the Battle of Scarif.
The ship was presumably named after Raddus following his heroic actions during the battle, and the fact that Admiral Ackbar is aboard the ship during The Last Jedi only makes it that much cooler...even if he also dies as a result.
